Great stay, friendly staff, wonderful view, would definately stay again!
Very conveniently located, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, free wifi and very pleasant and helpful staff.
*** You need to give more options to the second question in #1. My sister and were travelling together. We're old but we're not a couple. Thanks
My first clue should have been the price, I figured it was the end of the season pricing as the picture on the website looked pretty good. However, the picture does not truthfully portray the hotel. It must be the origianal architectures drawing of 40 years ago, believe me it does not look like that today. The description states there are private balconies. Perhaps there may be some in some part of the building but where I stayed they were anything but private. They were one long balcony only separated by a waist high railing. Most disappointing as I would have liked to sit out there in the evening to enjoy the spectacular view. With people sitting a few feet away in their chairs it felt uncomfortable. The sliding doors were filthy and I could barely see out of them when sitting inside. With one of them the seal was broken and the glass was cloudy. Sitting close to the sliding doors was difficult anyway, because I don't believe the drapes have been cleaned in years, they smelled dusty. There were no screens and within 5 minutes the room was filled with flies. The only air circulation was a stand alone small fan on top of the cabinet. The hallways are dark and dingy. A very uncomfortable and distasteful stay.
staff were courtestous and helpfull
this hotel is very old and is in desperate need of an upgrade.I can compare it to staying at the imperial palace in Las Vegas.......very old and outdated.
Having a full breakfast was very nice. They were short staffed and slow. Waited 10 minutes to be seated and was acknowledged only after 5min. Breakfast was good.
Needs pick me up in color , bed spreads smelled. Curtains could not be closed as curtain rod was broken
The view was amazing & staff were very friendly/efficient. The free eggs & bacon breakfast overlooking the ocean was nice change from other places I've stayed at (free cereal/stale muffin & coffee). I loved the idea of pool & hot tub too. .
there was no air conditioning
I like the wiev, and it is central.
No aircondition in the room.
The staff were quick to resolve problems, and offered a room upgrade when there was an issue with the room which was booked.
No Air conditioning on one of the hottest weekends in the summer made for an uncomfortable night on the top floor. Hotel needs an investment into updating in order to bring it into this century.
My Farther has been billed twice for our stay on 8/6. One at 106.57 and another at 123.99. How can you help get this corrected? Greg Lamont
Have been billed twice.
there is little to be appreciated at the Anchor Inn beside its location - if you can ; DO NOT BOOK !! ... they advertise that the Hotel enjoys a sea view but the double window glazing is broken in most of the rooms of the hotel and all windows are opaque ( windows not transparent any more, filled with steam making impossible to enjoy the view )!!!
1) Front Office staff simply unfriendly, not polite towards foreigners and for 135 Dollars you do expect more specially when there is an issue with the rooms ( 2 rooms booked ). 2) Attention; NO elevator available - therefore you WILL be asked to carry your luggage down the stairs and NO assistance offered ! 3) Breakfast service unproffessional - more than 45 minutes to be served ( 1st day) second day NO service at all because there were no staff !!! 4) they advertise that the Hotel enjoys a sea view but the double window glazing is broken in most of the rooms of the hotel and all windows are opaque ( windows not transparent any more, filled with steam making impossible to enjoy the view )!!! 5) housekeeping poor ; cleaning cloth ( dirty) left in the wash basin ! 6) NO air-conditioning and the room filled with insects ... Bed Bugs ? ==> overall very poor; could not check-out after the first night without having to pay for the second night as a penalty ; ...... overall VERY BAD - a TOURIST RIP-OFF specially for Canadian standards of service and facility
No air conditioning. No screen on patio so could not leave door open for fresh air. It ws hot and stuffy. One of the sliding doors was "steamed" could not see out. The breakfast was a good bargain BUT they were out of all but white bread for toast, orange juice and there was only 1 overworked waitress who mixed up the orders and didn't know who she'd taken coupons from and who not. She was trying to clear tables which were all left with dirty dishes but she couldn't possibly do it and serve too. Therefore, water asked for was forgotten, juice came later when asked again. They needed at least two waitresses or at the very least a busboy. Water should have been in a jug so at least the customers could get it themselves since she didn't have time.
Excellent value for the money. Free parking, wifi, pool, and breakfast. Proper cottage fried potatoes too! One of our party has a gluten intolerance, and they did everything they could to accommodate him. Good coffee - not just warm brown beverage. Comfortable beds and perfectly situated for our purpose.
Only thing that I found difficult was that the rooms did not have air con, it did have a fan in the room but it was quite hot when we were there, and that made our stay a bit uncomfortable.
The hotel had great views and location. The hot breakfast was also very nice.
I did not like the fact that there was no elevator in the hotel nor was there any air conditioning.
